| - Notes: The death of Mr. David McKenzie, at the Adelaide private hospital on Wednesday, will be regretted by many residents of the Port Pirie and Franklin Harbor district, where be was well known and highly respected. His father represented the Flinders district in Parliament for many years, and was one of the earliest settlere in the Franklin Harbor area. Mr. McKenzie was born in 1867, at Yabmana, where his father had a farm and he was engaged in pastoral and agricultural work and himself took up land there. At the age of 25 he married Miss Beatty, and five years later removed to Port Pirie, where he was employed in the smelting work. He remained at Port Pirie for nearly 23 years, and from there came to Adelaide, where he went into business in Wakefield street. He leaves a widow and nine children.. Messrs. D. E. McKenzie (North Norwood), D. B. McKenzie. (Stepney), and Kenneth, Allan, Keith, and Malcolm McKenzie, and Misses Mary, Rose, and Kathleen McKenzie. |
