She arrived in Australia in 1871 and came to Mackay from Brisbane with her husband in 1872. A husband and grown-up family are left to mourn their loss, the members, of the family being Mrs. J C. Laurent, Messrs. Fred Weiske (Postmaster, Barcaldine), and Ernie, Willie, Charley and Frank (Mackay).
