Esperance, July 5. — The funeral of the late Mr. E. W. Stearne, of Esperance, took place this afternoon. A service was conducted in the Methodist Church, Esperance, by the Rev. Fox, of the Australian Inland Mission. The church was filled by a representative gathering and the service was continued at the graveside, the cortege being perhaps the longest ever seen in Esperance. Among those present were ex-members of the Esperance Road Board, of which Mr. Stearne was at one time chairman, representatives of the Chamber of Commerce, various other bodies and mining associates. |
