Mr George F. Gottwaltz, a well known man in pastoral circles In Charters Towers, died there last week. Mr Gottwalti was an En glishman, who, on coming to Aus tralia, bought the cattle property, 'Walila,' in the Burnett district. Later he acquired 'Powlathanga,' near Charters Towers, and has lived there ever since. Mr Gottwaltz was a thorough cattleman, and being used to small holdings, worked his place on thorough lines. Hi was an ear nest worker in all political matters, and in anything that stood for the State's advancement. He was one of the cattlemen, who was prepared to give time and thought in a public way to the cattle industry, and he will be missed in his district in this and many other dlrections. For years Mr Gottwaltz has been suffering from asthma, but had much improved health on the Tablelands. He leaves a wife and a grown up family to whom much sympathy will be ex tended. |
