CHILDREN'S PARTY ENDS IN A FIGHT MAN BADLY INJURED Melbourne, Thursday. An argument at a children's party at Coburg last night resulted in Frederick Ling (39) being admitted to hospital in a serious condition with a fractured skull. It is stated that exception was taken to the action of a woman, and in a few minutes a serious position developed in which her husband joined. Ling, it is stated, was struck on the head with a bottle when leaving the house. The Brisbane Courier (Queensland) 24 Sept 1931 FATAL FIGHT. VICTIM DIES IN HOSPITAL. MELBOURNE, September 23. Frederick Ling (aged 39 years), married, of Shaftesbury-street, Coburg, died in the Melbourne Hospital today from a fractured skull and other injuries. Ling received his injuries in a fight outside his home on August 26. Examiner (Launceston) 5 Nov 1931 MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE DEATH OF PRINTER MELBOURNE, Wednesday. Frederick Emanuel Ling (39), a. printer, of Shaftesbury Avenue, Co burg, died in the Melbourne Hospital on September 23 from the effects of a fractured skull and other injuries re ceived outside his hone on the evening of August 26. At the inquest to-day the coroner found that the injuries were received when he was struck and knocked down by Leslie Edgar Duncan. Duncan was committed for trial on a charge of manslaughter. |

LING - On the 22nd September, at the Melbourne Hospital, Frederick Emanuel, loved eldest son of the late Frederick and Margaret Ling, dearly loved brother of Lizzie, Willie and Eveline (Mrs Watkinson), loved brother in law of Alice and Harry; also loved nephew of Mrs. Paterson Reunited with father and mother. |
