Note 12: Burdekin Burial register PORTER Mary (F) - age 85 - of Ayr - Ayr Cemetery, grave no 453 - dod 7 Nov 1920 Townsville Daily Bulletin 12 November 1920 (page 7): There passed away on Sunday night at the district hospital on the oldest residents of this district Mrs Porter, aged 85 years. The deceased lady arrived in Queensland from England in the sixties and settled in our district with her husband in the middle seventies and has resided here ever since. Her husband predeceased her a number of years ago. The deceased lady leave behind a grown up family of three sons and four daughters all well known residents of our district and 11 grand children and several great-grandchildren. The funeral on Monday was largely attended testimonial to the esteem the respect in which the late Mary Porter and her family are held.
