Note 2: Qld bmd - 1902 C158 James Ironside George Ironside Elizabeth Taylor Brisbane Courier 4 April 1902 Mr. James Ironsides,the proprietor of the Great Northern Hotel, at Proserpine, also died on Thursday morning last. The Telegraph (Brisbane) 26 April 1902 IN THE SUPREME COURT OF QUEENSLAND. In the GOODS of JAMES IRONSIDE, late of Proserpine, near Bowen, in the State of Queensland, Canegrower, deceased, In- testate. Notice is hereby given that, after the expira- tion of fourteen days from the publication hereof, application will be made to this Honourable Court that ADMINISTRA- TION of the personal Estate of the above- named James Ironside, deceased, who died Intestate, may be GRANTED to ELIZA BETH JANE IRONSIDE, of Proserpine, near Bowen, in the State of Queensland, Licensee of the Great Northern Hotel, at Proserpine aforesaid, the Widow of the said deceased. - Any person interested who desires to object to the application, or to be heard upon it,, may file a Caveat in the Registry at any time before the Grant is made. Note 4: Qld bmd - 1946 C1417 Elizabeth Jane Borman William Hampton Harriett Faux The Proserpine Guardian 31 May 1946 MRS. ELIZABETH JANE BORMAN The death occurred last week of another old and respected resident of Proserpine in the person of Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Borman, aged 69 years. Mrs. Borman, who was born in Mackay, was the eldest daughter of the late Mr. William Hampton. She married Mr. James Ironside in 1899 and they came to reside in Proserpine, taking over the Great Northern Hotel, now the Hotel Metropole, from Mr. Tom Simpson. Later they became interested in cane growing taking up the property now owned by Mr. M. McCormack. Mr. Ironside pre-deceased his wife in 1902. In 1904 Mrs. Ironside married Mr. Thomas George Borman, who died in 1924. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. M. A. Caven (Waterson), three daughters, Mesdames W. Smith (Brisbane), and S. Jackson and D. Strickland (Proserpine) and two sons, Messrs. J. A. Ironside (Brisbane) and W. J. Ironside (Proserpine). The funeral moved from the Church of England, Mr. E. S. Briggs officiating; at the services.
