MRS. KATE LUTTERAL
The funeral of Mrs. Kate Lut
teral, who died at Degilbo on
Wednesday, was largely attended by
the deceased's friends and relatives.
The Rev. Father Gleeson, P.P. (Gayn
dah), who attended Mrs. Lutteral in
her last illness, officiated at the grave
side. Father Glccson also celebrated
the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in her
| old home on the morning of the fun
eral. Mrs. Lutteral was widely known
and respected for her outstanding
charity, her willingness to help on all
occasion;, when help was needed and
her wonderfully happy disposition, not
withstanding a long period of suffer
ing. Her husband, Thomas Francis
Lutteral, pre-dcceased her about 20
years ago. She leaves a family of
nine children to mourn her passing,
Messrs. Thomas (Mt. Coolon) Philip
(Longreach), Francis (Strathpine),
William (Brisbane), Mesdames Quin
lan (Townsvillc), Humphries (Degilbol,
Stellmach (Maryborough) and the
Misses Eileen and Mavis, who resided
with their mother in Degilbo. One
son, Cecil, died in 1911. Mrs. Lutteral
w6s born in Kilkenny, Ireland, and
was within a few weeks of C9 years
of age. She came to Queensland with
her parents (the late Mr. and Mrs.
Edward Quirk in 1875. Her sister,
Mrs. Barker, of Maryborough, pre
deceased her about three years ago,
but she is survived by her brother.
Mr. John Quirk, of Maryborough, and
her sister, Mrs. Mary McGuire, Taa
binga Village. The attendance at her
funeral and the large number of mes
sages of condolence received by the
members of her family bear testimony
of the esteem and respect in which
she was held. Mrs. Lutteral resided
in Degilbo for upwards of 45 years.
