Mawby - arrived 23rd Dec SMH & sept 1847 LIVERY COMMISSION STABLES, PITT-STREET, SYDNEY, OPPOSITE THE SCHOOL OF ARTS. LAWRENCE MAWBY, late of Dar- linghurst, begs most respectfully to in- form his friends, the public, and gentlemen visiting Sydney-that he has taken those capa- cious and convenient premises lately occupied by Mr. Mark Dixon, as Livery Stables, and opened the same as Livery and Bait Stables, upon the same principal as " Elmore's, of the Edgeware Road, London," and in soliciting the patronage of gentlemen, he begs to assure them that the most guarded and careful attention will be paid to all horses standing at livery as well as bait. The terms will be found to be most reasonable upon trial. Brisbane Courier 4 July 1866 Lawrence Mawby v. Edward Clegg.-£3, balance of account. Verdict for plaintiff. Robert Mawby v. Edward Clegg.-£6 15s., wages due. It appeared from the evidonce of the plaintiff and his father, that he had been engaged to run the Nerang Creek mail, at 15s. a week; he had been employed ten weeks, but had drawn only 15s. The defendant affirmed that he had engaged the plaintiff at 10s. a week to run the mail, and 15s. if he made himself generally useful. He had, however, done nothing besides running the mail. Verdict for plaintiff. The distance from the city is about six miles, with a good road leading the whole dis tance THE GARDEN is enclosed by a brush fence, and planted with fruit trees, Dalby Herald and Western Queensland Advertiser 17 Feb 1872 A FARMER at Eight Mile Plains, near Brisbane, named Lawrence Mawby, was, on Wednesday, sentenced to fourteen days' imprisonment, withoutut the option of a fine, for assaulting an under-bailiff while in the execution of his duty. DEATHS. MAWBY.—On the 25th July, at the residence of his son- in-law, Walton Copeland, Esq., Mount Pleasant, Eight- mile Plains, Lawrence Mawby, late of Lincolnshire, England, aged 51 years. His end was peace. [Lin- colnshire papers please copy.] |
