WEBB—PLANT. The marriage of Mr Frank Webb, for- merly of London, and now of the Lon- don Chartered Bank, Charters Towers, with Miss Maria Esther Plant, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs E. H. T. Plant, Thornburgh House, was celebrated at St. Paul's Church yesterday afternoon. The wedding attracted a large con- course of people; the thoroughfares were crowded along the way from Thorn- burgh House to the church owing to the fact the bride is almost a native of the town and that her parents have so long occupied a leading position in it. The ceremony was conducted by His Lordship the Bishop of North Queens- land, who was assisted, by the Rector, the Rev Joseph Pike, and Archdeacon White, of Hughenden, the coming Bishop of Carpentaria. The ceremony was most impressive, and the service choral. the bride was very punctual, and arrived on the arm of her father. She was attended by four bridesmaids, Miss A. Plant, Miss J. White, Miss Rosa Plant and Miss M. Plant, sisters and adopted sister of the bride ; and Miss Kitty Plant, and her cousin, Mas- ter Richardson of Townsville, were the pages. Mr Webb was supported by the Rev W. Tidewell, Messrs Jessop, Percy Clay and De Vis. + long description of dresses etc |
