Fatal Accident at Miandetta. A sad accident occurred at the Government Tank, Miandetta, at 3 o’clock on Wednesday afternoon last, when Mr and Mrs T. Hodges' daughter, Myra, aged 10 years, re ceived burns which resulted in her death. It appears that the child was lighting a fire in the stove, when the flames blew out and ignited her clothing, and when found by her mother her clothes were literally burned off her. Dr. Daish was im mediately phoned for, but on arrival held out no hope for the child, who succumbed a few hours after the ac cident. The neighbours rendered all possible assistance, but nothing could be done to save her. The ac cident came as a shook to the com munity, and heartfelt sorrow is ex pressed for the parents in their hour of trouble. |
