JOHN McPAUL. Another old resident of the dis- trict passed away on Tuesday in the person of Mr. John McPaul, sugar farmer, of Harvey's Creek, who died at his residence there at the advanc- ed age of 80 years. A native of New South Wales, he came to North Queensland in the prime of manhood and saw the very beginning of settle- ment in the Harvey's Creek district. His wife died many years ago, and his surviving relatives are his son, Mr. J. C. McPaul (just elected to the Cairns Shire Council) and a sister, Mrs. F. H. Squire.
