William Singleton Lawler was a shop assistant and then joined the RUC in 16th June 1902 from Tipperary as a Constable and then moved to York Road Barracks and retired on 31st May 1922. His badge number was 60787. In 1910 he married Margaret Clarke in 14th September 1910 at Jennymount Methodist Church, Belfast which is 2 streets away from his first house at 28 Edlingham Street, Belfast in 1912, moved in 1914 to 20 Gainsborough Drive which both have sinced been demolished, but were still there in 1995. In 1940 he moved to 125 Somerton Road after he retired from Police. His wife Mrs Margaret Lawler moved out to 23 Downview Avenue where her daughter lived - Doreen Margaret Lawler
