Death of Mr. Thos. W. Dicker.
On Thursday afternoon the mortal
remains of the late Thos: W. Dicker
were laid to rest in the Martyn-street
cemetery. The deceased came to
Australia at 13 years of age. and ex
cept for a trip to his home town
(Reading, England), has been resi
dent in, Australia since. For some
years he was a citizen of Mackay.
and later visited most of the gold-
mining towns of Queensland and
other States, notably -Bendigo. Ballarat
Croyden and the Palmer. For
the past ten years Mr. Dicker In
been an employee of the Cairns timber
mill. The fellow employees of
the deceased attended the funeral
which moved from the hospital at 4
p.m„ marching at the head of the cortage
-as a last tribute of ,respect for.
their comrade. Besides the bereaved
widow, there remains. a family of six -
to mourn the loss of a loved father,
floral offerings of sympathy were
placed on the grave by the following;
—Mr and Mrs. Mclnerney and family
Mr. and Mrs. T. R. Roberts.
Charlie and Enid. Mr. and Mrs Dillen
and family. Mother. Norman and
Charlotte, Hughie and Arnie. J. Dicker:
Mr. and Mrs. R. Jenkins, Mrs
Devey and Kate, Mr. and -Mrs. Piersen
and family.
