MR. W. A. MACDONALD
The death occurred on Tuesday
last of Mr. Walter Alexander Mac
donald in the Royal North Shore
Hospital at the age of 80.
Mr. Macdonald was formerly in
charge of the Goulburn branch of
the AMP. He took a keen Interest
in music, and was a foundation
member of the Goulburn Liedertafel
in 1801, and was always one of its
greatest supporters. After he left
Goulburn, Mr. Macdonald kept in
touch with it and maintained con
tact with the friends he had made;
then. He was present at any special
festivities of an historical character
in connection with the society.
Of late years Mr. Macdonald was
a member of the AustralianHis
torical Society, and spent, a great
deal of his time in research work
of value. He was in Goulburn not
so long ago.
He leaves a widow, three daught
ers, Edna (Mrs Lord), Lorna (Mrs
Rutter) and Helen (Mrs. Quodllng);
and a son, Edward, who Is serving
with the AIF abroad.
