Sad Death.
A sad death, occurred in the Private Hos
pital on Thursday last, when Mr. Henry
Braby, brother of Mr. F. L. Braby, of
Kyogle, joined the great majority, the im
mediate, cause of death - being pernicious
anaemia. The deceased was a stranger to
these parts, having arrived here some three
weeks since, thinking the change might re
sult in improved health.-However, from
the day of his arrival his condition gradually
became worse, and despite the efforts of Dr.
Greer and the nursing staff of the Hospital
the sufferer sank into the deep slumber of
death. The funeral took place on Friday
afternoon, the Anglican burial service being
read by the Rev. A. R. Pegler. The
obsequies were attended to by Mr. G. J.
Grove. The late Mr. Braby, who was 58
years of age, was an Englishman by birth,
and had been a resident of Northern Queens
land for a number of years, where he fol
lowed the calling of Consulting Engineer.
In connection with his profession he had
patented several inventions, one of which
necessitated a trip to Glasgow, where he
secured a first prize for Australian work
manship in the engineering section of the
Glasgow Exhibition of 1901. At the time of
his death he was engaged in completing a
new process for treating refractory ores.—
