BEVERIDGE.
On Monday night last the death occurred of one of our best known district graziers, in the person of Mr. A. J. A. Beveridge, owner of Dollar Vale Estate, Eurongilly. For nearly two years he had been suffering from aneurism of the heart, and some months ago sought advice in Sydney but no hope was held out for his recovery, so that but few people were surprised to hear the sad news of his death.

Deceased, who was about 65 years old, was a native of Scotland, having been educated at Dollar Grammar School. He reached Australia when but a young man. In the sixties he occupied the post of manager for Mr. W. O. Windeyer, the then owner of Wantabadgery Station, succeeding his brothor James in that position. In 1874 or 1875, taking advantage of the liberal conditions of the Land Act which was passed into law by Sir John Robertson and his party, he took up Dollar Vale holding, and remained in occupation up to the time of his death. By subsequent additions to it, Dollar Vale became the most valuable estate in the western portion of the district.

He reared four sons and four daughters. Two daughters are married, one to Mr. M. Sawyer, Jun., Bethungra, the other, Margaret Ruth, to Mr. Alfred Elliott, an officer of the Bank of New South Wales. One son is married to to the daughter of Mr. S. White of Merybindinah Station, one is in business in Junee, and the other resides at Dollar Vale. Deceased is survived by his widow.

The funeral left Dollar Vale at 11 am. on Wednesday for the Wantabadgery cemetery, which was reached at 1.30pm. The remains were interred in the Church of England cemetery, the service being conducted by the Rev. J. Studds. Fifty baggies and thirty horsemen formed up in the procession, relatives and neighbours, and sympathisers from all parts of the district, inoluding several from Gundagai, being present at the graveside.

Death has been particularly busy amongst tbe leading families of the western part of tho district during the past year, and it is safe to say that none will be missed more than that genial and hearty friend, John Beveridge.
