After a series of illnesses extending over a period of two years, death came last week to Mrs. Minnie Jane Smith, of Hill-St., Junee, at the age of 69 years.

Deceased, who was a member of the well-known Sheather family, of Gundagai, was the widow of Mr. Charles Isaac Smith, who is 72 years of age. Mrs. Watkins, of Batlow, is a sister and Messrs. Reg and George Sheather of Gundagai are brothers of deceased.

The funeral of the late Mrs. Minnie Jane Smith, of 29 Hill-st., Junee, took place yesterday afternoon, the cortege moving to the Church of England portion of the Junee cemetery from St. Luke's Church, Junee, where a short service was conducted by the Rev. Henry Staples, who also officiated at the graveside. During the service at the church, the Hymn, 'Abide With Me,' was sung.

Relatives and friends from Junee, Nangus and the surrounding district were present and many floral tributes were sent. While the casket, covered with beautiful family wreaths, was being carried from the church, Miss Ings, presiding at the organ, played the 'Dead March in Saul ' The carriers were Messrs. Walter Allan and Ernest Smith (sons), and Thomas Mooney (son-in-law), while the floral tray was carried by Messrs. Edward Smith (son), R. Neve (son-in-law), Cecil and Cyril (nephew).

The funeral arrangements were carried out by Messrs. Black and Pickles, of Junee.

Mooney, Tocumwal); Irene, Joan (Junee); Alburt (Cootamundra); Edward (Cootamundra); Walter (Nangus); Ernest (Bribaree); Thomas (Junee); and Allan (Junee ). She was in Junee for over 16 years. Married over 50 years ago, she lived for more than 30 years in Nangus.
