| - Notes: Samuel Piper, who was born in Ireland in 1809 came to Australia with his wife Sarah Piper (nee Sarah Hern) in 1841. Soon after arrival they commenced working for George Shelley at Tumut Plains. Samuel Piper remained working for Shelley until the time of his death in 1853. He was buried just behind Camelot homestead. His children were;
)Emma Piper (married D. French), )William Piper, )Samuel Piper Jnr., )Alexander Piper, )Thomas Piper, )Robert Piper. Robert was still working on Camelot in 1924 and at this time William, who was then eighty years old was living at Tumut. |
