Sudden Death of Mrs J. C. Pearce The sudden death of Mrs. Sarah Jane Pearce, wife of Mr. John C. Pearce, of 'Hillside,' Yaven Creek, which occurred at the Tumut and District Hospital on Friday evening last, a little after 5 o'clock, cast a gloom over the Adelong district, of which she was a native and where she had lived all her life and was widely known and highly respected. Deceased entered the hospital some three weeks ago with a varicose vein in the leg. Drs. Browne and Clous ton, performed an operation, and ev erything was going on in the patient's favor. On Friday evening, while she was being prepared for the night by the nurse, Mrs. Pearce suddenly collapsed and died, death beirig due to a clot of blood on the brain. It was quite an unexpected development of the case, and the sudden death made the shock to her husband and family of ten all the more severe. The late Mrs. Pearce was aged 49 years, and was the mother of five sons and five daughters; who, with a sorrowing husband, are bereft of a devoted parent and a loving wife. The deepest sympathy is everywhere expressed for the bereaved relatives. The remains were taken to Adelong on Saturday afternoon for interment in the Church of England portion of the cemetery, Rev. G. F. Pyke, Rector of St. Paul's reciting the burial service at the graveside.
