William Herbert Pilkington died on August 29, 1954 aged about 70 years. The Courier-Mail on Monday August 30, 1954 published the following announcement: FUNERAL NOTICES PILKINGTON-The Relatives and Friends of the late William Herbert Pilkington, Tunnelling Co., 1st A.I.F. beloved brother of Mrs A. L. Baglini, (Brisbane) and Mesdames A.H. Price, W. Parker, and E. Adams, of Townsville, are invited to attend his Funeral, to leave the Funeral Parlour, 45 Adelaide Street, City, This (Monday) Afternoon, after service commencing at 1.45 o'clock for the Crematorium, Mt Thompson.
