OBITUARY MR. T. BROWN The death occurred last Friday morning, in a private hospital at Wagga, of Mr. Thomas Brown, at the age of 73 years, of Goonigul avenue and M'Kinnon-st., Wagga, and of "Brownsdale," Tarcutta, after having been in indifferent health for some time. Mr. Brown was a well-known and highly-respected resident. He was twice married, first to Miss Janet Baird Simpson, and to that marriage there were two sons and four daughters— Messrs. Fred. and Philip Brown, of Tarcutta; Mrs. John (Bessie) Burun, Miss Blanche Brown and Mrs. T. (Grace) Burt, all of Tarcutta, and Mrs. J. (Olive) M'Inerney, of Canberra. There are also 15 grandchildren. His first wife predeceased him in 1921, and the second marriage was to Mrs. Kellon, who survives him. There were no children of the latter marriage. Mr. Brown leaves two brothers and four sisters— Messrs. Samuel and William Brown, both of Tarcutta, and Mrs. Philip Justice (Tarcutta), Mrs. H. McInerney (Big Springs), Mrs. George Hilton (Tarcutta) and Mrs. A. Ingram (Batlow). Mr. Brown was born at Camden, and was the third son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Brown, of Tarcutta, very early pioneers of that town. He was educated at Tarcutta and followed farming and grazing pursuits very successfully, and many years ago went in extensively for strawberry growing. Mr. Brown was highly esteemed by a wide circle of relatives and friends for his many kind and thoughtful actions. The funeral took place on Saturday, the remains being interred in the Presbyterian section of the Wagga Cemetery. Son of William Brown and Charlotte (Wright) Brown. He married Janet Baird Stirrat on 25 Feb 1885 in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Australia. Father of Frederick Brown, Elizabeth Simpson (Brown) Burgun, Blanche Brown, Phillip Brown, Alice Brown, Grace Alice (Brown) Burt, and Olive (Brown) M'Inerney. Funerals MR. T. BROWN The funeral of Mr. Thomas Brown, of M'Kinnon-street and Goonigul Avenue, and also "Browmsdale," Tarcultta, who died an a private hospital in Wagga on Friday last at the age of 73 years, took place Saturday afternoon, the body having been moved to St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church on Friday night. Prior to leaving St. Andrew's the Rev. J. B. Ben toul conducted a short service, the church containing many relatives and friends of Mr. Brown. The minister made feeling and kindly reference to the good life of the deceased, and to his illness, which he had borne with Christian fortitude. Those present sang one of Mr. Brown's favorite hymns, "Nearer My God To Thee". Mrs. Rentoul officiated at the organ. The cortege was a large and very repesenitative one and included relatives and. friends from Canberra, Botlow, Gawmain, Taircuitita, Borambola, Ladysmith, Coreinbob, and Albury road, and prominent residents of Wagga, which showed the great respect and esteem in which Mr. Brown was held by all who knew him. The interment took place in the Presbyterian portion of the Wagga eemetery. The coffin was carried by Messrs. Fred and Philip Brown (sons), Alfred Thomas Burt (son -in -law), Stan Brown (nephew),Thomas Ingram, and Richard Burt; and the pall bearers were Messrs. John Warran, John Hilder, Robert Shoemark, Ernest Shoemark, Charles Douglas, John Skeidder, John White, and Alfred T. White, all close friends of Mr. Brown. The Rev. J. B. Rentoul officiated at the graveside, and among the mourners present were his bereaved wife and four daughters — Mrs. John Burgun, Miss Blanche Brown, Mrs. A. T. Burt, and Mrs. J. M'Inierney; Mr.and. Mrs. Samuel Brown (brother and sister-in-law), Mrs. Philip Brown (daughter-in-law), Mr. and Mrs. George Hilton (sister and brother-in-law), Mrs. A. Ingram (sister), Mr. B. P. Justice, Mrs. H. M'lnerney, Mr. A. T. Burt (son-in-law ), Mr. Vernon Ingram (nephew), Mrs. Les Beattie, and a large number of other relatives. Among others present were Messrs. Charles Moss, George Heydon, J.Campbell, Charles Smith, jun., Horace Smith, P. E. Power, Roy Murrell, R. Harmon, J. C. Chapman, Les Chapman, W. Peacock, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Skudder, Mrs. W. Watson, Mr. and Mrs. John Warren (Ganmain), L. Hyland, and many other old friends.Two sisters amd one brother (William) were unable to be present. Many beautiful floral tributes were sent along.
