| Thomas Laney was born in Hampshire in Surrey, England. His name changed from Leaney to Laney in his marriage record in 1853. He journeyed from Sydney to Wagga Wagga over an eleven year period. He later went onto a farm at Forest Hill. In 1875 Ellen promised to enrol Charles, James, William, Sarah, Fanny and Thomas in the new school at Forest Hill. Son, David, was a pupil teacher at North Wagga School from 1895-97. Thomas sold up the farm and retired to reside in Wagga Wagga for his last years. He lived in Wagga Wagga for 37 years. |
