Personal Notes:

He supervised bullock teams from Wagga to Sydney taking up to 5 months. Could make 500 pounds which was a small fortune. Charles Nixon had children from all three of his marriages; five from the first, one from the second and four from the third. After Charles Nixon's first wife died at Gregadoo, he sold the property and moved into a house on the corner of Coleman and Collins Streets. Including the the block from Coleman Street to the Railway, he owned from the corner of Gurwood Street to the Pastoral Hotel. The boys were sent out to look after themselves. George aged 10 years was taken to Woodlands Station and looked after by his aunt Elizabeth Jane Bardwell. Charles Nixon designed the Anglican Church in Wagga Wagga. Part of the original church is still standing.
