Married George in 1888 Adelong The Tumut and Adelong Times (NSW : 1864 - 1867; 1899 - 1950) Tue 15 Jun 1937 MRS CLARA CATHERINE GODFREY Word came through to us from Sydney last week that the death had taken place at a private hospital at Randwick last Saturday week of Mrs. Clara Catherine Godfrey, erst while of Tumut, relict of the late George Godfrey. Deceased was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Phil Phillips, of Adelong, and some time after the death of her husband at Tumut went to Sydney to reside. She had enjoyed good health until last year, when it commenced to fail, and several weeks before her death she entered hospital for treatment. Mrs. S. Smith, of Avoca street, Randwick, is a sister, and it was she that saw to the patient's requirements while in hospital. The corpse was privately cremated on June 7. |
