- Notes: Eleanor Bowcher 1792 was shown on the 1851 census as deaf and dumb, residing
with her sister Jehoshabeth and her husband Christopher Chown. By 1861 she was with another sister Deborah Turpin at Berry Pomeroy. Although her mother had ensured she was taken care of financially, life must have been difficult for Eleanor. |
