Personal Notes: |
Emma, born 1864, was said by her niece Nola Grant Mackay to closely resemble her mother Emma Elworthy, though she was a blue eyed blonde, almost six feet tall! All the Donaldson boys were reported as being over six feet. For many years Emma cared for her widowed and invalid mother whose hands were ever busy doing needlework or pen drawings. Mother actually outlived her daughter. Emma did not marry and died in Sydney in 1917. Mother Emma stayed with her daughter Jeanette Mackay until her death. |
