DEATH OF MRS. MAURICE KILEY
A most melancholy event took place on Tuesday morning last, when Mrs. Maurice Kiley, who had led a very exemplary life, passed away to join the ranks of the great majority, at the early age of 56 years, 44 of which were spent in this district, she having arrived here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Donald MacIntosh, in the year 1861. Her father was then in good circumstances, having given up a lucrative occupation as manager of an important station in the Wagga district to come to Tumut. In 1875 she was married to Mr. Maurice Kiley, of Spring Creek, the outcome of the marriage being the birth of six daughters and two sons, the eldest of whom is about 20 years of age and the youngest about 12 years. Their careful and creditable training reflects the highest of credit upon their parents, and the filial affection existing of the children towards their parents and vice versa, was most remarkable. Two sisters survive the deceased— Mrs. T. Wilson, of Tumut, and Mrs. McKennie, of Gunnedah.Besides those mentioned she also leaves a sorrowing widower, who was much attached to his deceased wife.
