1841 has Gordon Carney (a fish hook maker) living in Dumfries aged 30 with David aged 10, Elizabeth (8), John (6), Gordon (4) and David Hair (70) and Janet Hair (70) (Marion's father & mother?) and Margaret Carson (2). All born in Dumfries.
1851 census has no record of him. 1861 census has him by himself as a lodger. 50 years old - gamekeeper of Kirkcudbright parish. 1871 census has him widower, lodger 62 years old - game keeper of Kirkcudbrightshire ???. Death certificate has him as a Fish hook and tackle manufacturer aged 63 years. Father John Cairney (jobbing gardener deceased). Died Maxwell St, Dalbeattie. No rels on Death certificate. |
