Obituary.— "In the midst of life we are in death," has again been truly verified during the past few days. On Sunday morning information was brought into town that our respected neighbour Henry Wilkinson had gone to "that bourne from whence no traveller returns." His illness was of short duration, for less than two months ago he might have been seen riding about apparently as hale and hearty as need be. He was, however, suddenly attacked with a malady, and after awhile he was conveyed to Gundagai for hospital treatment, where he remained for five or six weeks. On Friday last, at his desire, he was brought home to his residence, when Dr. Large held a consultation with Dr. Falder of Adelong ; the result was that an operation was performed, after which the deceased appeared greatly relieved, but about dawn of the following day he breathed his last. The deceased, who was in the prime of life, was the third son of the late Mr. William Wilkinson of Tumut River, and leaves a sorrowing family to deplore their bereavement. The funeral took place on Monday afternoon and was very numerously attended by friends and acquaintances to whom deceased was long and favorably known. The beautiful and impressive burial service of the Church of England was read at the cemetery by the Rev. C. J. Byng, and many a parting tear fell at the grave of poor Henry Wilkinson.
