OBITUARY MISS CAROLINE S. WILKINSON Death claimed yet another of this district's native born, early on Friday morning last, when Miss Caroline Sara Wilkinson, of "Springfield," breathed her last. Deceased, who was 75 years of age, had a general breakup of health about three months ago. She entered the Tumut and District Hospital for treatment, was there for seven weeks and then went home for a week; but was obliged to re-enter hospital a week before her demise. She was the second daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Wilkinson, of "Springfield," and was born at Yellowin, but lived almost the whole of her life at "Springfield," which her parents owned. She was a devout parishioner of St. Paul's Church of England, Tumut, and took active part for very many years in all functions for the benefit of that church; and during the Great War associated herself with the local bod ies' activities for the boys at the front, in the Red Cross and War Chest movements, as well as the homecoming receptions. She was also one of the foundation members of the C.W.A. Hospital movements, at one time, saw her amongst the foremost in the ranks. There were four daughters in the family, but one of them only, Elizabeth (Mrs. 'H'. Fred. Lampe, of "Nebea," Cooonamble) remains; the other two were Margaret (Mrs. C. W. Beegling) and Miss Charlotte. The brothers surviving are Messrs. Thomas E. Wilkinson, of Tumut, and Mr. John T. Wilkinson, of "Springfield". Deep sympathy is expressed for the bereaved relatives. The funeral took place on Saturday last, moving from All Saints' Church, where the casket remains had reposed overnight, after a short service conducted by the Rector, the Rev. S. Broadfoot, for the New Cemetery, where they were interred, the latter officiating at the graveside. Mr. C. W. Burt carried out the direct or's duties. The pallbearers were six nephews, Messrs. Peter, John, Cedric, Geoff and Rolf Wilkinson and Neville Beegling. The casket in the hearse was be strewn with a profusion of floral tributes, one of which dropped into the grave and therefore the card could not be produced to identify the person or persons sending the wreath.
