DEATH OF MR. JOHN C. HALLORAN A sad and sudden fatality occurred on Saturday morning last, when Mr. John C. Halloran, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Halloran, of Tumut Plains, died at his parents' home, as a result of injuries received through being thrown from his horse on his way home from the Tumut Show. After the great storm on Thursday afternoon which played havoc everywhere, Mr. Halloran left the Showground on his way home to Tumut Plains, and later on he was discovered on the roadside in a semi-conscious state and was removed to the Tumut Hospital, where after treatment he came to and appearances indicated that nothing serious had eventuated. In the morning he got up and was walking about, and then returned inside his home and collapsed, death following soon after. An inquest was held on Saturday and a verdict of accidental death returned by the Coroner (Mr. R. L. Blakeney). Full particulars will appear next issue. |
