OBITUARY The death occurred on Sunday afternoon of a well known resident of the Wagga district for many years, Mrs Johanna Reineker after a few days illness, from influenza. She was 83 Years of age and she died at the residence of her son-in-law, Mr. D. Gordon, Edward street. The deceased lady was a native of Germany, and arrived in Australia at the age of 28 years, with her husband, the late Mr. Francis Reineker, and lived in Picton for three years, afterwards going to Berrima. After staying there a short time, they came to Wagga and took up land at Cunningdroo, and remained in the Wagga district ever since. She was of a very kind disposition and esteemed by a large circle of friends and relatives. She leaves a family of four sons Henry (of Alfredtown), Lawrence, George and Michael (North Wagga), and three daughters, Mrs. J. Naughton (Ladysmith), Mrs. D. Gordon (Edward Street, Wagga), and Mrs. W. Smith (Gumly). She also leaves 37 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. The funeral took place yesterday afternoon, leaving her son-in-Iaw's (Mr. David Gordon) residence, Edward street. The Rev. Father Gahan proceeded the hearse to the cemetery, and the cortege was an extremely lengthy one, containing many relatives and old friends of the deceased lady, from Ladysmith, Gumly, North Wagga and Wagga. The interment took place in the family ground of the Wagga cemetery. A number of beautiful floral tributes were sent. The pallbearers were Mes srs. George Rineker, H. Naughton, J. Reineker, F. Gordon, C Reineker, and W. Smith,being six grandsons of the deceased lady.
