Augustus LeFevre arrived in the district in 1844 to work as a carpenter and builder for George Shelley. His services as a carpenter were 1n great demand.
Later he selected a good farm on Tumut Plains where he and his wife Susan, who was a native of Norfolk, England, and who had arrived in Australia in 1838, reared their family and lived for the rest of their lives. Augustus LeFevre died on 4 October 1894 aged 78 years and his wife died on 28 April 1890 also aged 78. |
