| - Notes: Family researchers are yet still unsure of John's wife Mary's maiden name, but in 1841 she was indeed a widow and took over the running of the farm with her son, also named John. In 1851 Mary is a widow annuitant visiting Eliza and John Lewis in Aston by Budworth. The census does not specify what relationship Mary is to the head of household except as "Visitor". Mary died in 1853. The farm Arley Moss/Moss farm was taken over by John and Mary's son Peter Barber (supported by the 1861 census and Land Tax Assessments). |
