HODGINS.— On June 4, at her residence, Hodglns-road, Hastings, Cora Estelle, dearly be loved wife of Councillor G. Hodglns, loving mother of Charlotte (Mrs. Stacey), Vera, Harry, Jeffery. Jean (Mrs. Stanford), Roy 'and Nell, aged 50 years. The Standard (Frankston) 13 June 1941 OBITUARY MRS. CORA ESTELLE HODGINS. Mrs. Cora Estelle Hodgins, whose death was briefly, reported in last issue, was the' wife of Cr H. G. Hod gins, of Hastings.' `irs Hodgins, who was held in high esteem' by a large .circle of friends, did a' lot 'of work for the 'district. "The funeral at 'the Hastings Cemetery was largely 'at tended, and the Rev. W. M. Robert son, who read the burial service, :re ferred to the life of Mrs Hodgins and spoke highly of her as a citizen and a'great worker for the church. She leaves a husband, four sons and three daughters to mourn their loss. Pall bearers at the cemetery were Mes srs. Henry Hodgins, James D. Hod gins, Harry Dobson, John Jones, Wil liam Peddle. The cofflln-bearers were Messrs H. NV., N. G., J. It., and J. E. Hodgins, sons,. and F. Stacey and A. Stanford, sons-in-law. Mr. Hector Gamble conducted tlhe 'funeral ar rangements. At the council meeting on Friday night, Cr. Wells expressed the sym-' pathy of councillors to the deceased lady's husband and family. He said that Mrs Hodgins had done splendid work for the district when her hus band -was Shire President. As a ; mark of respect councillors observedI a period of silence. |
