SQUIRE-SOPER. The wedding of Miss Florence Eliza- beth Squire,.the third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Squire, of Babinda, and Cyril Francis Soper, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Soper, of Tully, was solemnised at the Presbyterian Church on June 6 at 6 pm, Rev. McPheat officiating. The bride entered the church on the arm of her uncle. Mr. McPaul, of Bel- lenden Ker, and looked charming in a bridal gown of white satin trimmed with silk lace and cut on princess lines with embroidered veil and coronet of orange blossom. She also carried a beautiful bouquet of pale pink roses and asparagus fern. She was attended by her sister, Mrs. W. Man nix, as matron of honour, who was gowned in an all over lace frock of white and carried a bouquet of dahlias. The little train bearer. Wilma Luff, was frocked in a pale blue net frock embroidered with pink roses worn over satin, and head dress to match. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. W. Mannix, of Bartle Frere. The reception was held at the home of Mrs. Pollard McLeod-street. The beautiful two-tier wedding cake held pride of place at the table, and was the work of Mrs. Pollard, who also carried out the table decorations. The usual toasts were honoured, also musical items, and after viewing the lovely presents the happy couple left amidst a shower of congratulations for their honeymoon, which was spent at Kuranda. - . |
