Personal Notes:

from death reg of son John Heritage Family Tree - Ancestry Francis Heritage arrived in Australia on the 1st of April 1838. He landed at Hobart on the MOFFATT 2 as a convict. He married another convict Rosanna Mary Smith in Tasmania in 1846. Three children were born in Tasmania : Mary Ann, Frank and John Charles. When they came to Victoria in the 1850's six more children were born : William Henry, Maria, Walter, Goerge, Alfred and James. Most were born in the Maldon and Castlemaine area, and the family settled at Mia Mia, near Newstead in about 1860. Frank, Alfred and Maria (Mrs. Andrew Clark ) settled in the Essendon area, as did their mother Rose after the death of Francis (at Newstead). John Charles went to Euston and Balranald area. William Henry went to Echuca and parts of N.S.W , while all of James's children were born at Newstead. Walter stayed on the farm at Newstead. George moved to Queensland and married Catherine O'Shea.
