Note 2: Qld bmd - 1915 C29 August Frederich Nehmer Fredrich Nehmer and Julia Heutz Morning Bulletin (Rockhampton) 25 March 1915 LONGREACH, March 24. Mr Frederick Nehmer, a very old resi dent of Longreach, died somewhat sud- denly. Last night he complained of not being too well. Dr. F. A. H. Michod was sent for, but Mr. Nehmer passed away soon after his arrival. Death was due to heart failure. The deceased was fifty five years of age. He arrived in Australia from Prussia forty years ago. He came here when the railway was opened. He was Past Chief Ranger of tile Foresters' Lodge. The members of that body took part this afternoon in the funeral, which was largely attended.

1919 - postal assistant, Longreach 1925 - postal department, clerk - Hughenden 1930 - PO at Collinsville 1937 - PO Townsville 1947 Townsville Daily Bulletin 14 May 1947 Mr. Jack Nehmer, lately postmaster at Longreach, but now of Charters Towers, has been appointed Deputy Director of Posts and Telegraphs at Port Moresby, -New Guinea- Mr. Nehmer is a native of Longreach. 1951 - Cairns Post 5 July 1951 NEW POSTMASTER FOR CAIRNS MK. J. F. NEHMER APPOINTED. Mr. J. F. Nehmer, formerly post- master of Toowong, has been ap- pointed postmaster at Cairns, and will commence his duties on July 16. He will take over from Mr. S. C. Fell, who has been acting post- master here for more than 14 months. - Mr. Fell is at present awaiting confirmation of his appointment as postmaster to West Wyalong, (New South. Wales). He has worked for the P.M.G-. Department in Cairns for a little over two years. Mr. Nehmer has left Toogong, and is at present spending his leave at Atherton. J 1958 - PO Townsville
