Helen Barker 6 Sept 2011 My name is also Helen and since the death of my mother in March of this year, several cousins and I have been piecing together our family history. In searching for information on my Grand Uncle (brother of my maternal Grand mother) I discovered your web page and family tree listing what I think is the John Edward Neilson that I am researching and trying to find the descendants of. I also obviously wanted to make contact with you given that John Edward Neilson appears in your tree and would be interested to learn of your connection. In summary I have the following for John Edward Neilson - The details of his parents Neil and Catherine (nee Wilson) Neilson and siblings John Edward Neilson was born at Pooncarie, New South Wales, Australia on 26 February 1884 He was in WWI – light horse - address given, London Bank, Martin Place, Sydney Was a bank clerk in various locations including for a time in Broken Hill Married Euphemia (Dorothy as the family called her) Snaddon in 1920 Had 3 sons John Wilson (1921), Charles Robert (1922) and James Neil (1925) All 3 sons have passed away – Charles & John cremated at Springvale but not interned there and James buried on Magnetic Island, Queensland. John Edward died at Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital 3 March 1967 and was cremated and interned at Springvale We would be very keen to hear from you and learn what information you might have on John Edward Neilson, especially any information on his descendants. I have a very dear and elderly Neilson relative of John who would love to make contact with any of John’s descendants and it would be great if I could help him do so.
