Northern Miner (Charters Towers) 11 March 1933 INNISFAIL NOTES Miss Couche was farewelled at Mourilyan prior to leaving for Charters Towers. On behalf of her many friends she was presented with a crystal toilet tray and accessories. The chairman, Mr. J, J. Castor and others present spoke of the esteem In which Miss Couche was held at Mourilyan. Mr. R. G. Couche responded on behalf of his daughter. A social evening eventuated. Miss Couche joins the nursing staff of the Charters Towers hospital. The Mercury (Hobart) 6 Nov 1937 SUCCESSFUL NURSES Results of Recent Examinations The following nurses passed the examination conducted by the Nurses' Registration Board in Hobart on October 27 and October 28: Josephine W. Couche - distinction in general nurning Cairns Post 12 March 1937 TOWN AND COUNTRY Miss J. Couche (Innisfail) left by the Orungal on Tuesday night for Hobart. She was accompanied to Cairns by her sister, Miss Aphra Couche. Miss Aphra Couche (Innisfail) spent a short time in Cairns last week, as the guest of Miss Ilma Haines. Cairns Post 31 Aug 1940 TOWN AND COUNTRY Sister J. W. Couche, whose home is at Mourilyan, has been called up as a nursing sister in the AIF and leaves Innisfail next Monday to take up her position.
