Death Notice for Mary Ellen:
ROSSITER (Maynooth) - May 29, 1940, at her residence, Garda Station, Maynooth. Mary Ellen (Moggie), beloved wife of Sergeant Thomas Rossiter, Garda Siochanna, Maynooth; deeply regretted by her sorrowing husband, daughter and friends. Funeral to Eyrecourt, leaving Maynooth at 11 o'clock, to-morrow (Friday) morning via Tullamore and Birr.

Great to hear from you. Only last night I had gone back again to check for any further updates on this line.

Your information is really useful to me in my search. I had only last night found the death notice for Charlotte Howard, with three children Howard Pamela and Valerie, but of course could not be sure it was the correct person. So now I know it is. I will attach the notice at the end of this letter.

My interest is in Mary Howard b. 1906

I think she married a catholic and may have been disowned or disinherited by the family.
But I have not proved this for certain. In a marriage that seems to be hers she married Thomas Rossiter and had a daughter Charlotte in 1925, I can't find any other children, at least not yet.

I am not family myself, but am helping a friend find his family.
In Ireland in those times people were often cut off from family when they married outside the church, so when I saw there was no information available on Mary, I think she may be the correct person.

I will keep you informed on my findings.
Your information is really helpful and exciting.

Hope you had a great holiday. I am retiring myself next Friday. Have been teaching for 40 years, so hope to take up some travelling too.
