Wedding Bells. The marriage of Dr Francis Guy Antill Pockley, eldest son of Dr and Mrs Antill Pockley, of Greystanes, Wahroonga, with Miss Nell Partridge, second daughter of Mr and Mrs F. L. Partridge, of Rocklands, Neutral Bay, was solemnised at Sr. Augustine's, Neutral Bay, on Wednesday, Sep- tember 13, by the Rev H. Saumarez Smith. The bride wore ivory duchess satin, made with a square train, one corner turned back and embroidered in silk with true lovers' knot, and showing frills of quilled tulle, the front panel of skirt being made to correspond ; the bodice was draped with fine old Brussels lace, falling over the train, and her tulle veil was worn over a wreath of orange blossom. She also wore a pendant, of moonstones and white sapphires, and carried a shower boquet of white Neapo- litan violets and azaleas. The brides- maids were Miss Catherine Patridge, Miss Phyllis Pockley, and Miss Lillian Hoare. They wore pale cornflower blue crepe de chine, trimmed with Irish crochet, the bodices veiled with ninon coates. Their large white straw hats were lined with ninon, and trim- med with pink roses and blue hya- cinths. They carried boquets of Countess la Barthe roses, which, with gold curb bangles, were gifts from the bridegroom. Mr L. J. Reynolds was best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at Rocklands, and about 100 guests were entertained on the lawn, where a large marquee had been erected. The tent was entirely lined with pale green, festooned with clematis, and the sides of white trellis decorated with palms. The tables were charmingly arranged with pink and white peach blossom. Later the newly married couple left on their honeymoon, the bride wearing a coat and skirt of China blue Shantung, piped with blue and white striped silk, and finished with a lace collar and a China blue straw hat with blue and pink roses.—'Herald.' |
