Townsville Daily Bulletin 2 June 1926
A shocking burning accident, which
was attended with fatal results, oc-
curred at Macrossan on Sunday
morning, when a child named Jack
Bamford, three years of age, son of
Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Bamford, lost
his life. It appears the mother had
been burning some rubbish in the yard
and went inside to get something,
leaving the little chap playing. Sud-
denly she heard screams, and ran out
to find that he had evidently fallen
into the fire, being shockingly burn-
ed. The Ambulance Brigade were
summoned, and immediately conveyed
the little sufferer to the Charters
Towers hospital. He was attended to
immediately by Dr. Millett, but expir-
ed half an hour after admittance.
