Wagga Wagga Advertiser 25 Dec 1888
List of Conditional Purchases of land - Ross Houston Ramsay, 200 acres, Palmer Newpaper articles - Ross Ramsay of Narrow Plains station, Corowa Sydney Morning Herald 12 Feb 1889 HORSLEY V. RAMSAY. His HONOR delivered judgment in this case, the facts of which, as stated in the claim, were :- James Ramsay, Ross Ramsay, and R. D. Weir were the owners of a station property known as Coobany, on which was a selection of 640 acres held by Oliver Scot Stewart, but the condition of residence had not been fulfilled, and in the year 1883 they sold the stations to the plaintiffs, and covenanted that Stewart would do all things necessary to be done to prevent the forfeiture of the selection, and that they would procure a valid transfer thereof to the plaintiffs upon fulfilment of the conditions. Subsequently, and after the plain- tiffs had completed the purchase, the selection was forfeited in consequence or non-fulfilment by Stewart of the condition of residence. James Ramsay died on the 16th August, 1885, leaving a will of which Ross Ramsay was executor, and Ross Ramsay died on the 13th July, 1886, leaving a will appointing the defendants Jane Ramsay and William Samuel Ramsay executrix and executor. The plaintiffs filed their statement of claim, praying that it ought to be ascertained what damages they sustained by the breach of the promises and guarantee, and that the defendants Jane Ramsay and W. S. Ramsay might be decreed to pay such damages out of the assets of James Ramsay. ....................................
