PERSONAL.
Mr T. P. Adlam writes to the Sydney 'Daily Telegraph' as follows: 'Many of your readers will, I feel sure, be interested in perusing a copy of the record of the MacDonald family, well known In New South Wales, Victoria, and Queensland. The MacDonalds, had all survived, would have, numbered 12. There are 10 of them now living, namely, George, age next birthday 89; Margaret 86, Alexander Cameron 84, Peter Fitzalan 82, Sara 80, John Graham 78, William 73, Jane 70, Charles Hugh 68, lsabella 66. A brother of the above died in 1838, and a sister in 1837, each only a few months old. Thus, there has been no death among this generation of the MacDonald family (10 in number) for 74 years. The father of the MacDonalds. Alexander Cameron, who was born in 1797, died In 1847, Sara Warby, the mother, born in 1806, passed away in 1893. Mr John Graham Mac Donald, of Brisbane, and one time of Townsvllle, who was the sixth of the twelve, is in the best of good health, and carries out the duties of his responsible office with a capacity and energy men many years his junior might well envy."' His son, Mr Wm. MacDonald is the well-known solicitor at Hughenden.

FUNERAL OF THE LATE MR. C. H. MACDONALD.

The funeral of the late Mr. Charles Hugh Macdonald, formerly of Dotswood and Yabba stations, took place yesterday afternoon. The cortege moved from Devon, Edmondstone-stsreet, South Brisbane, at 2.30pm for the Toowong Cemetery, the Rev. Canon Jenkin conducted the ceremony at the graveside.
Among those present were: Mrs. C. H. Macdonald, Messrs. G. Macdonald, T. Macdonald, H.A.C. Douglas, L. Lord (Eskdale), A. R. Atthow (Avoca), A. H. Langdon, Charles H. Vaughan, A. D. McPhee, Mrs C. H. Obituary
Queensland lost one of its pioneers yesterday, when Mr. Charles Hugh Mac Donald died at his residence, Devon, Edmondstone-street South Brisbane. Mr. MacDonald, who was in his 80th year, had been ill for some time, but to the last retained a keen recollection of the events of a life replete with interest. He was born at Campbelltown, Victoria, and came to Queensland half a century ago. The lure of gold claimed him, and he rode from Rockhampton to the Palmer field, where he underwent a strenuous time, and came out of it a wiser man. He turned his energies to pastoral pursuits, and took up Northedge, on the Mitchell River. Later he became manager of Dotswood station for the Queensland National Bank, a position he held for 10 years before transferring in a similar capacity to Yabba station for a decade. Inspection work for the Q.N. Bank and the Queensland National Pastoral Co. occupied him until about seven years ago, when he retired, and lived quietly the rest of his days, enjoying a wide range of friendships.
The deceased gentleman came of a long lived family. His eldest brother, George, of Melbourne, is now the only one left, and is 100 years old this year. Other brothers were the late Mr. A. C. MacDonald, of Melbourne, and the late Mr. J. G. MacDonald, who were well known throughout Queensland. Until death claimed these old pioneers, the MacDonalds hold the remarkable record of its ten members (ten brothers and sisters) being in the aggregate, 780 years old. The eldest daughter, Jessie, is Mrs. Andrew McIlwraith Taylor, of Carpentaria Downs. Other daughters are, Jean (Mrs. Robert Harding of Westgrove); Mabel (Mrs. Bruce McNab, of Percy Island); and Georgina, the youngest. The eldest son Percy resides at Mareeba; the second, Tennant, is manager of the Q. N. Bank Greenmount; whilst the youngest son manages Yabba station. One son, Douglas, was killed in France. The funeral will leave the deceased gentleman's late residence, Devon, Edmondstone-street, South Brisbane, at 2.30 o'clock this afternoon.
