On the 12th instant, at her residence, Kenilworth Lodge, Woolhara, Sydney, Jemima, the beloved wife of Mr. J. H. Decent, and fourth daughter of Mr. Henry Rourke, of West Maitland ; aged 25.

The deceased was one of the best known advertising experts in Sydney and for a number of years controlled the Government Railway and Tramway advertising. he has left a widow (the daughter of the late Captain Shorter, of Sydney) and eight sons and three daughters. His sons are: Joseph Henry of "Montrose" station, Singleton; Harold Marshall & Harry William of North Sydney; Thomas Fox of Canada; Cecil Edwin of Summer Hill; Roland Leopold of Granville; Ashley Howard of Gosford and Lesley Stanley of Mosman. His daughters are: Mrs G. Clift of Maitland; Miss Ruby Ethel Decent and Miss Constance Vivian Decent. The funeral will take place at the Church of The England section of the Necropolis."

Decent and daughter of the late Captain W. E. Shorter, Harbour Master of Sydney and beloved mother of Cecil, Roland, Ashley and Leslie. In her 85th year. Privately interred Rookwood Cemetery November 27.

Obit - Maitland Mercury "Mr. Joseph Henry Decent, a former well-known resident of this district, passed away at his home at Gordon yesterday. The deceased sold his property "Montrose", at Jerry's Plains some years ago and after some time in residence in Singleton, he proceeded to Sydney to reside. The late Mr. Decent, who was a very familiar figure in the life of Jerry's Plains and Singleton, was a noted authority on sheep and one of his special activities was the breeding of fat lambs. He was also interested in stud dairy stock. He officiated as judge of sheep sections at many agricultural shows. In the sporting world, the late Mr. Decent was a keen exponent of bowls and he was very popular with club members. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters and a son."
