LATE MR. W. E. PARRY-OKEDEN'S FUNERAL. The funeral of the late Mr W.E. Parry-Okeden, I.S.O. (formerly Commissioner of Police) moved from St John's Cathedral yesterday afternoon for the Bulimba cemetery at the conclusion of a solemn service conducted by Rev W.E.C. Barrett, of Sherwood, The esteem in which the late Mr Okeden was held was demonstrated by the number of persons who paid their last respects as the body lay in state at the cathedral. A fair number proceeded to the cemetery where the last rites were conducted by the Rev. Mr. Barrett. The chief mourn- ers were Messrs. U., C.F., and H.D. Parry-Okeden (sons) (Mrs H .R. Pockley (daughter) the Misses Pockley (grand- daughters), Messrs D. Pockley (grandson) C. de B. Persse. |
