At Carfear, New Zealand, in March, last, aged 27 years, MARY ANN RISDON, wife of Mr. JOHN COWELL, and eldest daughter of the late GEORGE HOWE, Esq., the original founder of the " Gazette" in this colony.

On the 12th of January, at the Bay of Islands, New Zealand, after a long and painful illness, Mr. William Howe, Master Mariner, aged 54 years, deeply lamented by a large circle of friends.

In the Will of Thomas Howe, late of Gunnongjugrawah,
oil the Murrumbidgee River, near Grundagai,
Esquire, deceased.
NOTICE is hereby given, that after the expiration of
fourteen days from the publication hereof, appli
cation will be made to this Honorable Court, that pro
bate of the Will of the above-named Thomas Howe, be
granted to Leah Howe, of Ghinnongjugrawah aforesaid*
the widow of the deceased, as the sole Executrix therein
named.—Dated this 14th day of December, 1860.

On the 6th instant, at his residence, Botany-street, aged 56 years, George Terry Howe, third son of the late George Howe, Esq., proprietor and editor of the first New South Wales Government Gazette.

Redfern, Sarah Risdon, the beloved wife of Frederick Lee, in
the 67th year of her age.
Personal Notes:
A possible father is a William Pierce arrived per the ship Barwell in 1798 after being tried in Hampshire on 1 Mar 1796.
He was noted in the 1806 muster.
After the birth on 14 Mar 1801 of William Jr., Elizabeth Hastings soon afterwards formed a lasting relationship with George Howe.
William Jr. was then known as William Howe after his step-father George Howe.
