William Kiley came to Australia in 1837. In 1840 he and Edward Hughes settled on Pastoral Run No. 95 at Spring Creek. The property was afterwards called "Kiley‘s Run" and then "Red Hill". This is the property which was the subject of Banjo Patterson's poem, "Kiley's Run".
Two of William Kiley‘s sons were born there, Patrick Kiley in 1842 and Edward Kiley in 1847 . |
